Psychotherapy and Counselling in Scarborough
Jill Kay, BA(Hons)
UKCP Registered Psychotherapist and Counsellor
Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling
Post Graduate Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy
I am now taking on a small amount of new work, and am currently offering sessions in-person, or via video call or phone.
I'm not currently taking on any couple work.
I've worked in private practice as a counsellor and therapist, in the Scarborough area, for almost 20 years. I have many years experience of providing brief focal counselling and psychotherapy for several Scarborough and Yorkshire based organisations and nationally based Employee Assistance Programmes, and of working with trainee counsellors and psychotherapists.
I have also worked as a counsellor for an IAPT (Improving Access to Psychological Therapies) service, working with clients referred by the NHS.
I work with individuals over the age of 18, providing both short term counselling, and longer term, open ended psychotherapy. Whatever brings you for counselling or psychotherapy, I'll work with you towards a better understanding of yourself and your needs, your options and your own resources, to enhance your capacity to live in a way which is satisfying for you.
I'm empathic and approachable, and offer you, in your therapy sessions, the time, space and support to explore yourself and your life - to help you to move on from old experiences and difficulties, and develop new perspectives and coping skills.
I work with a wide range of issues including:
- Relationship difficulties
- The effects of abuse
- Bereavement and loss
- The impact of physical health on emotional health
- Life changes and transitions
- Sexual identity
- Work related issues
- Self confidence and self esteem
- Self Development.
